Two of the most powerful voices in international music David Bisbal and Carrie Underwood, come together for the first time debuting an epic bilingual song. “Tears of Gold” arrives today alongside a stunning and emotional performance visual filmed in Los Angeles and directed by award winning producer Alexis Morante.
"Tears of Gold" follows a musically prolific period for one of the most important singers in Latin music for the past two decades, David Bisbal, a Spanish vocalist who emerged from the popular fan-voted television competition, Operación Triunfo, and went on to win 3 Latin GRAMMYs®, 3 Latin Billboard Awards, and score collaborations with Rihanna, Luis Fonsi and Miley Cyrus, to name a few. Bisbal has spent his quarantine months steadily working on music and preparing for the release of his new single featuring Carrie Underwood which serves as a focus for the multi-platinum balladeer’s forthcoming special limited re-issue release of his “En Tus Planes” album with additional tracks and performance visuals out December 11th via Universal Spain.
There are songs crafted to come to life through the greatest voices and 'Tears of Gold' proves the power of two pairing extraordinary performers David Bisbal and Carrie Underwood. “Tears of Gold” was written by Paul Harris (Kylie Minogue), Matt Schwartz (Yungblud, Halsey), Cameron Forbes (Tyga, Cher Llloyd), with additional lyrics and composition from award-winning “Despacito” producers Andrés Torres & Mauricio Rengifo.
“I am very proud of our first collaboration,” David Bisbal recounts. “The video was shot in Los Angeles and it was very special because I love Carrie and truly admire her courage. She has shown a profound admiration for the Spanish language with her wonderful vocals on the track and I am honored to collaborate with Carrie on her first bilingual Spanish song. I hope you enjoy the blend of country and pop music on ‘Tears of Gold’ as much as we do.”
Global superstar Carrie Underwood’s first-ever Christmas album, My Gift, is currently atop multiple charts in the U.S. and around the world, featuring a mix of beloved traditional favorites celebrating the spiritual nature of the holiday, as well as several new originals.
