From a young age Melissa Ramski knew she wanted nothing more than to become a country artist and has done just that with the help of her supportive family and friends. In fourth grade when asked to dress as her future self, Melissa knew who she was destined to be and strutted into school the next day with her cowboy boots and microphone in hand ready to invest herself in a music career. That same year Melissa started to get involved in fine arts, playing the lead in the fourth grade play and competing in her local country fair’s talent show. By middle school Melissa was enrolled in vocal lessons and developed confidence in herself as an artist and model. In high school, Melissa tried out for her school’s cheer team as well as being involved in her school’s choir and drama club. A very busy teen, Melissa spent her weekends traveling to various music venues and competitions.
Always wanting to be one step ahead, Melissa enrolled in a music program that brought her to Nashville - the heart of country music. There she had the opportunity to write and record her first ever song. That Christmas, Melissa and her sister released a christmas single that made it onto the Grammy nomination list. Upon their success, they released their debut album Lost in Your Eyes in 2010, which was written and composed by Melissa herself. A diverse artist, Melissa and her sister Mindy also starred in an independent film entitled Careful What You Wish For.
More recently Melissa released her new single Keep Dreamin and plans on releasing yet another single called Masquerade on May 1st. So look forward to hearing more from this up and coming artist and check out her music available via iTunes, Soundcloud, and on her website at www.melissaramski.com.

Watch Out! A New Superstar is Taking Over the Grammys and Her Name is Maren Morris

Maren Morris had every reason to take to the red carpet at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards with confidence. Stepping onto the red carpet in a striking plum colored dress, strappy white heels, and with four Grammy nominations, Maren just knew it was her night to shine. Nominated for more awards than any other country artist, Maren’s first Grammys were more spectacular than most. Maren’s debut album Hero was up for Best Country Album, her single My Church was up for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance, while Maren herself was nominated alongside fellow women of country artist Kelsea Ballerini for Best New Artist.
But the most surprising and exciting moment of the night for Maren was when she took home the award of Best Country Solo Performance over Grammy veterans Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Brandy Clark, and Keith Urban who were also nominated for the prize. Defying expectations all night long, Maren Morris will go down in the history books as the woman who paved the way for women in country at the Grammys.
But the night wasn't over just yet for Maren. In addition to her nominations, Maren was given the opportunity to perform alongside soulful great Alicia Keys. Together they performed Morris’ hit Once, which stirred up quite a buzz among the country music community.
Clearly the Grammy’s proved one thing to us all: Maren Morris knows how to get it done! So make sure to check out Morris’ debut Grammy performance if you haven’t already and find her album Hero here.
