It was a dazzling performance by Shakira and JLo during the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Not only did they represent women, but latin artists. A statement of inclusion that the NFL has been missing.
The performance was multi-generational with JLo bringing her daughter Emme on stage to perform "Born in the USA." To incorporate her heritage and her daughter's, JLo draped herself in a feathered Puerto Rican and American flag. A cross with purple and yellow lights was also presented to honor the lives lost in the helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant and his daughter. JLo went on to remind the crowd of her recent role in the movie "Hustlers," showing off her skills on a pole. While it will be hard to top this year's performance, we're hoping for a country act next year as Shania Twain was the last country artist to perform at the Super Bowl in 2003. Comment below who you want to see perform next year.
