An ode to their journey of finding home in their transition from Canada to Nashville, singer-songwriter duo Twin Kennedy release their highly anticipated Homebound EP, a stunning collection of six original songs. Available today, the release comes on the heels of the music video for the title track, which features a stunning performance at The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver and intimate family footage of the sisters growing up in their hometown of Powell River, BC.
"Creating this album has truly been a homecoming," the duo share. "Being on stage sharing our music with people we love has always felt like coming home. This was the inspiration for us, titling our album. We never could have imagined that the title would take on a whole new meaning this past year, with so many people becoming literally homebound. We are so grateful to be getting back on the road, sharing these new songs with everyone. Walking back out onto the stage, we truly feel homebound, and there is no place like home." Cultivating the authentic sound that is uniquely Twin Kennedy, the album was recorded between four different studios, The Warehouse Studio, The Tone Distillery, Sound Emporium Studios, The Shoebox and was produced by Nashville based, Canadian producer Dustin Olyan, along with Twin Kennedy themselves. Following the recent release of the sentimental title track, the EP is filled with evocative songwriting and storytelling, from heart-swelling ballads filled with raw emotions & crystalline vocals such as “Blindspot” and “Ghost Town” to upbeat, joyful ditties, such as “Little Life” and “Call It Love.” The collection showcases the versatile and dynamic style of Twin Kennedy’s artistry. The EP culminates with “Wise Woman,” a duet with fellow Canadian Mallory Johnson which made waves earlier this year, quoted as “[a] gorgeous tale of vulnerability and sisterhood that strikes just the right chord” by Billboard. Currently based in Nashville, the duo has made themselves a staple in the country music scene in both the US & Canada over the past five years, having toured extensively throughout both countries. With three CCMA Award nominations, thirteen BCCMA noms, two Vancouver Island Music awards, and two John Lennon Songwriting Award wins under their belts, Twin Kennedy have built a strong acclaim since their debut release It's a Love Thing in 2015. To date, the duo has received high praise from music tastemakers such as Billboard, Taste of Country, Rolling Stone, CMT, Sounds Like Nashville, SiriusXM, and Complete Country to name a few, and have performed on iconic stages such as The Bluebird Cafe, Canada Place, The Vancouver Olympics and many of Canada's festival stages. Twin Kennedy will be celebrating their release in Nashville with a release party Backstage @ Third and Lindsley on October 23. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased HERE.
