The Women of Country made a splash on Music Row Tuesday, August 23rd with two all-female powerhouse rounds during their August installment of “The Women of Country Presents: Carolyn Miller & Friends”. The lineup featured Miller, Kasey Tyndall, Grace Leer, Ava Suppelsa, Sarah Morey and Sydney Mack.
Miller hosted the event, quickly grabbing the audience’s attention with her charm and New York accent. Sarah Morey, Ava Suppelsa, and Grace Leer made up the first round. Rockstar, Sarah Morey, filled in last minute due to an illness and kicked off the show with “Harley.” Her songs and smile were infectious throughout the night. Songwriter Ava Suppelsa followed, sharing songs she’d written including “Salt, Lime, and Tequila” (Ryan Griffin), which went number 1 on SiriusXM The Highway. American Idol sweetheart, Grace Leer performed her recent singles “After 1” and “The Ones Before Me.” The third round consisted of covers by the female country artists who inspire them. Morey selected Morgan Wade’s “Wilder Days,” Suppelsa singing Maren Morris’ “The Bones,” and Leer honored Jo Dee Messina with “Heads Carolina, Tail California.” Round two followed with host Carolyn Miller, Sydney Mack, and Kasey Tyndall. Miller started the round showcasing her range with “T-Shirt”. Warner Chappell Music signed artist, Sydney Mack gave us a taste of new music and her soulful sound. Kasey Tyndall brought the energy with a strong performance of “Babies” and hard-hitting country sound. The round also consisted of Miller engaging the audience in a fun round of trivia, testing the room’s knowledge on the women of country. The night ended with a cover round, Miller performing Sugarland’s “Stay”, Mack doing a cover of Bonnie Raitt’s “Angel From Montgomery”, and Tyndall drove us home with Loretta Lynn’s “You Ain’t Women Enough (To Take My Man).” The Women of Country will host their September installment during Americana Fest at 6pm on Tuesday, September 13th at Live Oak. Miller will be joined by the talented Harper Grae and Zandi Holup. Hear songs from the August and September installments on Spotify here.
