Why a career in music?
I began doing music at a very young age in my church which is where I began singing. I loved music from the time I began doing it. I loved playing instruments and always could not wait to learn more. My church and community were a great support to me and really encouraged me in pursuing my music further! My Grandmother is an amazing singer often singing lead in church choirs and she has a very operatic voice. She, myself, and my Mom often sang together. I also began working with Kent Wells here in Nashville as my producer and we did my first album together called "Showin' My Roots" when I was 11 years old. We have completed three albums together now. Kent has always been such a huge encourager and inspiration for my love for music. My church, family, and friends have always been behind me. I was always so inspired and still am when I watch people’s faces when they hear music or sing along with you on a song they love. All of these things have been such a huge inspiration to me and my love for music! Which artists have inspired you? Gosh there are so many amazing artists that I love! Huge influences for me would be Dolly Parton, Hillary Scott, Martina McBride, Vince Gill, and Trisha Yearwood. I just wrote a new song on my newly released album titled the "Women of Country" and that song speaks to how so many women in this industry have influenced me and have paved the way for artists like myself to do what we love! What do your songs convey? My songs I hope send out a message about faith, family, and country! I love country music and I want to tell stories in my songs that inspire people through whatever they are going through in life happy and the sad times. Through my songs you will for sure see my love for being a country girl and lots of credit given in my songs to people who have influenced and made a difference in my life. Why country music over other genres? I love country music because the music tells a story. I also grew up in beautiful North Carolina out in the country and was influenced by a lot of Bluegrass and Country music so the stories were always an important part of music to me! I love the tradition and history that comes with country music. The legacy of the Grand Ole Opry and Ryman are just two of my favorite places. Any new music? I just released a brand-new album in late July. The album is doing great. I was honored to co-write with so many amazing artists on this album some of those including Bridgette Tatum, Devon O Day, Mo Pitney, and Keith Burns. I self-titled the album on this one because I felt that the song was so much a part of who I was and what I was about. I did my first release in North Carolina with the new album opening up with Mo Pitney. I am going to be sending out a release party date for Nashville very soon! Be watching for that. I am already back at writing new music and I am excited about where these songs are headed! Any performances stand out? Any performances on the horizon? Most favorite performances would have to be being asked to perform at the Grand Ole Opry for the Ralph Stanley Tribute. That was a dream come true. I had the honor to sing at the Schermerhorn Symphony and it was so beautiful there. I also was just signed this Summer as an on-going artist for the Wildhorse in downtown Nashville and I love performing there the crowd always have such great energy. I love the line dancing at the Wildhorse! I am a dancer as well so I love to watch people dancing and just having so much fun while I sing! The stage there is one of the best and my band and I just have such a great time there every performance! Future goals? I really hope to see my music being shared throughout the world and hopefully relating to more and more fans. I hope to be traveling to Europe in the Summer with my team to perform and I am super excited about that opportunity. I think my music and songwriting is reaching a new maturity level and I as I grow up there are new and different experiences to write about. Where can listeners find your music? Listeners can find my me and my music on all social media Instagram, Facebook, and twitter at Taylon Hope Music.
