Get ready for Miko Marks. Originally from Flint, Michigan she grew up singing in church. Backed by a strong support system, Miko was enrolled in music lessons. Her passion for country came from listening to Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, and Waylon Jennings.
Now blazing trails in country music herself with stories of love, inclusivity, and community, Miko was featured on Rissi Palmer’s Color Me Country Radio. Miko expressed gratitude towards everyone who’s supporting the movement of new artists and fellow black artists, Yola, War and Treaty, and Brittany Spencer. Her single “Goodnight America” reflects the times. It is about the heartache America was built upon and how we need to build a new foundation in order to move forward. Other singles released this year include, Travel Light, Mercy, and Water to Wine. Looking forward, Miko will be releasing an album in Spring of 2021. Her ultimate dream is of achieving a world where music has no borders or boundaries. You can find Miko’s music on all streaming platforms and on her website here. Author: Nicole Marchesi
