There’s no doubt about it that Miranda Lambert is a well-known name in country music, but last night Miranda proved that if you just speak from the heart and let yourself be vulnerable you can bring an entire room to tears.
Debuting her heartbreaking ballad ‘Tin Man’ on the ACM stage, Lambert demonstrated how a girl with a guitar is capable of receiving a standing ovation from even the most prestigious artists in country music. ‘Tin Man’ is just one of the tracks on Miranda’s most recent album “The Wait of These Wings” who she thanked her father for the title of during her acceptance speech upon winning Album of the Year. The album was written following her divorce with Blake Shelton who she praised stating “thank you for letting me use my heartbreak and sharing it with me.” A 24-song double album “Weight of These Wings” was well deserving of the ACM Award for Album of the Year, but Lambert was awarded in other categories as well. Going into the night nominated for five awards, Miranda Lambert was bound to make history. Winning both Album of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year, Miranda has achieved a similar feat for a eight consecutive years. Since 2009, when Lambert first won Female Vocalist of the Year, Miranda has earned herself the most ACM awards of any female artist surpassing country music legend Reba McEntire with last night’s wins. Now Miranda is strutting around with her new man Anderson East and plenty of ACM Award Trophies to go around.
