We have the premiere of Megan Knight’s brand-new single; “My Drama!” Listen below. Knight reflects on events in her life with a mix of country with an early 2000s pop beat backing the personal lyrics. In the song, Knight sings “never meant to be torn apart, I can deal with your demons and your trauma, if you can live with me and my drama”. The storyline details Knight looking back on past relationships. Megan reflects on the song by detailing that "Writing ‘My Drama’ was like taking all the confusion and contradictions stirred up in my soul and ripping it up from the roots. Trying to piece my life together to get out of the tunnel I was stuck in for so long."
The New Jersey born artist is pushing the boundaries by bringing together new pop country with a strong backing band with a wide variety of instruments and genres, as can be heard in the song. The new release by Knight was written and produced by James LeBlanc (Martina McBride and Kenny Chesney) Jimmy Nutt (Jason Isbell and Percy Sledge). These two legendary Muscle Shoals singer-songwriters took “the raw traditional musicality of the Shoals and fused it together with the Pop Contemporary sound of Nashville '', and they certainly did it very well. Knight has lots of upcoming live shows around New Jersey and Pennsylvania, you can buy tickets here.
