Macy Krew’s family claims she was singing before she could talk and hasn’t looked back since. By the age of 13 Macy was performing in talent shows and writing poetry, which later became songs of her own. Originally from Michigan, Macy has had the chance to open for Chris Allen claiming that performing gives her a burst of confidence.
Now living in Nashville, Macy is expanding her knowledge of songwriting. Having promised herself that any song that she will ever release is self-written, Macy’s music is real and often relatable to her listeners. Macy’s latest release Wherever You Are talks about her relationship with her boyfriend as well as her mother, both who appear at every one of her shows. Reflecting a country pop sound, Macy is following in the footsteps of female powerhouses Kelly Clarkson, Kelsea Ballerini, and Carly Pearce.
For the future, Macy hopes to continue along this journey and tell her story to as many people as she can. Macy also plans to release her debut EP within the year. Listen to Macy’s music on iTunes and Spotify now.
I am currently a student at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles as a marketing major. Upon realizing that I wanted to change the way people perceive country music and to help women have a voice, I began The Women of Country in 2015 promoting new female artists and sharing their stories with the world.
