Light up your 2024 with “A Little Fire” written and performed by Nashville-based artist, Suanna Lynn. Suanna has been keeping herself busy, writing new music, performing, and even becoming a mother to her new baby girl, Cosi. Suanna reflects on her 2023, saying that “I have just been creating new life it feels like- whether that is through music or through motherhood, I have been enjoying it all.” She has a lot of new music coming out, some that she will be singing and some that has been written for other artists. She has 5 or 6 singles she plans to release this year and is excited to play with a variety of emotions and even genres within her music. “This first one is very pop driven, the next one is very country driven, there’s one that is a ballad, …it’s really a vast representation of my inspiration and what I like to write and it’s very exciting."

Starting off with “A Little Fire,” co-written by Jason Witt, this song is born from the unpredictable challenges of 2020 and reflects Suanna’s desire to infuse life with this fire and passion that was sorely missed during the pandemic-induced shutdown. As an artist who gets much of her inspiration from being out  and experiencing the world and relating to the people in it, Suanna found it difficult to find that spark that inspires her music during a Zoom write. She and Jason Witt sat and talked about the pandemic, their lives in 2020, and eventually inspiration allowed their feelings to flow through the music. This is a story in the guise of a love song, but is really “a songwriter’s cry for inspiration and for something to give us excitement- a little fire.” This song is meant to show people that inspiration can be found in even the toughest of times, but also shows listeners that they are not alone in what they are feeling.

Growing up in “a very musical family” with each member pursuing their own musical passions, Suanna learned to love music early but is the only one to lean more into the songwriting aspect of music. “I would always show up to my music lessons not wanting to read the music and play what is in front of me, but to play things that I wrote- I think I was a nightmare for my Russian piano teacher!” Suanna mentions that she still feels like she is learning so much about music and the industry to this day. “I like to surround myself with high-caliber artists because then there is just so much for me to learn and explore." As she was getting started with her career, her first two years were filled with saying “yes” to anything and everything she could- “Any write, any performance, writers round etcetera, I’d say ‘let's do this, let's get out there!’- that really helped me create a group of people I love to work with and highly respect. Finding the people she enjoys doing life with has been the most special part for Suanna Lynn. Her newest addition to that group of people, her daughter Cosi, is influencing Lynn’s music already. Suanna says that “nurturing a human has made my music softer and more nurturing itself.”
