Urban country artist, Lauren Davidson, releases her new single, "Backfire" today.
"I wrote “Backfire” early last year after the pandemic hit with my buddy Adam McDonough who I wrote “Soaking Up Every Second” with. I was spending all of this time at home for the first time in a long time, and with all of my shows and touring being canceled and bad news after bad news every day, I found myself at a crossroads and sometimes a low. I wanted to write something that felt hopeful about the future. “Backfire” is about rising from the ashes when things don’t go the way you hoped and planned, and instead of breaking down, lighting that match within you and letting that fire burn inside of you and drive you to whatever is next," she told Guitar Girl Magazine.
Following the success of her last single "Live In The Light” Lauren’s made headway in 2021 and preparing or the release of her EP "Hindsight in 2020” due to release later this year. Being named a Country Newcomer to Watch in 2021 by multiple outlets including Country Sway and PopWrapped, Davidson showcases her roots throughout her meaningful lyrics. When she’s not selling out her own shows and opening for A-list acts across the US, Lauren is in the studio and constantly crafting new music. In keeping with her brand, Davidson promises that her new songs will be “anything but traditional.”
