Erin Kinsey has released the long-awaited “Just Drive”, it can be heard here. “Just Drive” the storyline came from Kinsey driving in the car with her boyfriend and thinking that “sometimes driving to the destination is better than the event because you always get quality time in the car”. Most recently, Erin was named a On The Horizon artist on Sirius XM’s The Highway for “Just Drive”, joining names like Hailey Whitters and Rachel Wammack.
Erin is from Rockwall, Texas, and grew up surrounded by music. It was not until 12 that Erin actually pursued music and ended up graduating high school a year early, and moved to Nashville, Tennessee. Kinsey was really inspired to pursue music because of songwriting, “you can write your own songs, and sing them anywhere, post your own content online”. Erin looks up to her fellow Texans, Miranda Lambert and Maren Morris but really loves all female country singers. Although Kinsey’s songwriting process is different every time, her lyrics exactly what she wants to tell someone in person. Erin Kinsey has had an incredible couple of years. From a video covering Miranda Lambert’s “Bluebird” being retweeted by the singer herself, getting to write the song “Pink” which ended up getting sung in a massive collaboration between Dolly Parton, Monica, Jordin Sparks, Rita Wilson, and Sara Evans, Erin got to perform the song at Opry Goes Pink, and the song has also become an anthem for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Kinsey wrote “Pink” with songwriter Victoria Shaw (The River by Garth Brooks), it can be heard here. She also had the opportunity to open up for Hunter Hayes in Nashville at the Ascend Amphitheater, the very same venue where she saw Maren Morris and Sam Hunt earlier that year.
