(NASHVILLE, TN; September 2, 2020) - Singer-songwriter Simeon Hammond Dallas isn’t afraid to let her voice be heard. A powerhouse vocalist with a folk, blues, and country sound, Simeon’s music resembles that of Janis Joplin and Joni Mitchell.
Graduating in 2015, Simeon set off on a busking tour for three months. Sparking her need for adventure, she then travelled across continents singing and finding inspiration for her writing. Her favorite part of performing is connecting with the audience and hearing fans say they can relate. With that in mind she wrote her debut single “Wild Woman,” a female anthem relatable to girls everywhere. Her single “Eat” details her relationship with food. Simeon tells us that she used to not eat much and would count calories, facing an issue with self-image. Now she wants to encourage others to be proud of the skin they’re in. In fact, Simeon has been a leading voice in the Black Lives Matter movement. As a result, she’s been featured in several publications including BBC and The Folkroom. On Friday, Simeon released her latest single “August” off her upcoming EP “Make It Romantic.” You can find Simeon on social media at @shammonddallas and on her website here. Author: Nicole Marchesi
