About finally saying what needs to be said, “My Turn” is an empowering song that has connected with Emily’s younger audience. A singer-songwriter, Emily writes about specific events in her life and enjoys spinning stories around to create new ones. She named Taylor Swift and Bob Dillion as two songwriters who taught her how to write a meaning song.
 
Emily grew up in a one traffic light town, where everyone knows everyone. She started taking guitar lessons as a child and quickly took up songwriting after. At the age of nine, Emily performed for the first time and has never looked back. Her favorite part of performing: connecting with the audience face to face. Something she missed during the shutdown saying, “I missed when a fan zones in and connects with you, you can tell by their body language. It is so powerful.” 
 
Moving forward, Emily is focuses on songwriting. In fact, she’s tapped into her more vulnerable side and will release “What I Said Goodbye” in November. Her goal is “to create a safe space over shared experiences with my writing. Digging deep into songwriting and finding lyrics where people of all ages can relate to. It’s also important to notice that women are a force to be reckon with in country music,” and Emily is just that – A force to be reckon with.
