Singer-songwriter Anne Wilson shares her personal story with the lord in her new single “My Jesus.” About her calling to pursue music and the ways we can talk to God, “My Jesus” was written to heal those who had dealt with loss. The song racked up over 225k global streams in its first week and peaked at No. 1 on the Christian iTunes Chart and No. 17 in the iTunes All Genre Chart. You can watch the music video below.
Growing up Anne wanted to work at NASA. However, God had a different plan for her when her brother and best friend was killed in a tragic car accident at the age of twenty-three. Overwhelmed by his loss, she sat down at the piano and played. Her parents watching from the next room. Once they realized she could sing, Anne was asked to play at the funeral. During her performance she found her calling, called to by Jesus to share her power to heal with others. Wilson recalling, “there’s a difference between a passion and a purpose, my purpose was to pursue music.”
She later posted a video of her performing “What a Beautiful Name” which she had played at the funeral, and it went viral. In fact, that’s how she met her now manager who brought her into writing rooms. In 2019, Anne signed to Capitol Christian Music Group and released a three song EP this year.
