Christina Taylor has just released a brand-new song, “I Got That From You." Find it here. The song is not about a specific person but how we inherit certain looks or behaviors from family. Taylor says she has her “moms’ attitude but her father’s eyes”. Christina was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida but relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina when she was 8 years old. She recorded her first country song at just 18 years old, and by the time she was 21 she moved to Nashville and released first single. The Florida born singer grew up listening to Destiny's Child and Christina Aguilera and mixed their influence with the sounds of Miranda Lambert and Eric Church. When it comes to her song writing, Taylor starts with a melody or a hook and builds around it. She loves co-writing because “What you go in with is sometimes not at all what it comes out as”.
Taylor spent all of 2020 in the studio cooking up new music and has been writing a ton over Zoom. She loves performing and has been missing interacting and having that personal connection with the crowd and seeing how people react to her music. She says the truth comes from the audience because “parents or friends might think always a song is good, but you never know the absolute truth until the fans react”. The Nashville living singer has even gotten the chance to sing at the historic Ryman Auditorium. Recognize her name or voice? Christina has had two collaborations with Canadian country singer Brett Kissel after they crossed paths while working with Go Long Entertainment.
