Found humming along to any tune, Charly Reynolds has always had music on her mind. Growing up in Orlando, Charly was influenced by Disney. In fact, Charly released her first single “Underneath the Stars” after a successful performance at Disney’s Night of Joy in 2015. Introduced to Carrie Underwood, Charly then felt she connected best with the songs and stories of country music.
This past year, Charly released a new EP “Kissed Us Goodbye.” The album includes a variety of stories, from love songs to heartbreak, and songs about the importance of family. Upon the release, Charly was invited back to the Walt Disney Amphitheater where she doubled her following. Being a child of divorce, Charly wanted to write a song which could relate to those who’ve experienced similar circumstances. Working with fellow songwriters, Toby Waters and Tavie Basarich, “Shelby’s Song” is told from a mother’s perspective and reveals the emotions brought upon by divorce. Quickly after the release in January, CMT premiered the video on their homepage. The video was a huge success and can be see here.
