Billboard Chart-Topping artist, Anne Wilson, is gearing up for the release of a new music video for her song, “Hey Girl.” Wilson describes this song as “an anthem for women.” Coming from someone who struggled with identity throughout her life, Wilson felt that it was important to write a song for women who were experiencing the same trouble with being confident in who they are. Inspired by the likes of Lauren Daigle, Hillary Scott, and Dolly Parton, it’s no surprise how Anne Wilson includes a powerful message behind every lyric she sings.
Wilson’s debut album, My Jesus, came out in April with the title track receiving a 2022 Billboard Music Award for “Top Christian Song.” This was extra special for Wilson as that song came from a very tough moment in her life when her brother passed away from a car accident. After this incident, she began journaling to express her thoughts and process this loss. When she began writing songs, she would use her journals for inspiration and that is how she gravitated toward writing the idea that became known as this award-winning song. Wilson has had an impressive debut and working alongside Hillary Scott for her song “Mamas” was something Wilson could add to the list of incredible accomplishments. Not only was Wilson a big fan of Hillary Scott beforehand, but she also says that she was “the best addition” to that song and more importantly the best addition to that music video!
