Small, but mighty Andrea Vasquez celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with the release of her latin-infused album “The Bed You Made.” Andrea’s powerhouse vocals and sassy attitude put emphasis on her relatable and compelling lyrics. She takes you through the journey of being wronged in a relationship and finding ways to heal. Listen here.
Starting off strong with Bed You Made, Andrea puts the cheaters in their place. It’s followed up with Made Me Cry, an emotional rollercoaster with a happy ending. Used To showcases Andrea’s vulnerability, a ballad of memories that she reflects on from a past relationship. And it only goes up from there… Literally! Reverse, Hangover, and Never Into Me are up tempo and will have you dancing along as we were at her album release party held at Anzie Blue, a new venue in the heart of Nashville’s creative community. But our favorite song on the album is the last, Overthink, about the endless wheel of questions and fears in one’s subconscious which we all experience. “It’s important for me to tell this story and incorporate the pain that comes with wearing your heart on your sleeve,” says Andrea. “From the start, this project has been about empowering those whose hearts have been broken and encouraging them to stand up with a little bit of tajin spice.” Andrea also released the music video for “Overthink” which you may see on CMT. Produced by Nashville-based photographer and videographer Jessica Amerson, this video includes clips of Andrea growing up, performing on stage, pursuing her country music dream and proving that making a mark in country music as a Latina is not always easy. “My parents really should have producer credits,” she jokes. “I wanted to not only showcase what people may go through when it comes to overthinking like a new relationship, career, etc. but to show my growth as an artist and how being a Latina in country music impacts me.” Watch here. Andrea is making her mark performing all around Nashville, including at our upcoming writer’s round on October 10th with fellow Latin artists Kat Luna and Leah Turner.
