Hailing from Toronto The Ashley Sisters, Lauren and Marlo, have created a unique sound that fits today’s mainstream platform and pays homage to the traditional sound that came before them. The Ashley Sisters grew up in a musical home, picking up instruments at a young age. In addition to music, both participated in dance classes, Lauren becoming a cheerleader for a professional football team.
Though music was always a part of their lives, they didn’t perform together until attending Rock Camp when they performed “Sweet Home Alabama.” Choosing to write all their own music, their songs are genuine and relatable to a large audience. Their current single “Sweet on You” tells the chronicles of a high school teenager realizing her romantic feelings for a childhood friend from a female perspective.
Now the Ashley Sisters are also producing a reality TV-show hosted by YouTube called “Along Came The Ashley Sisters.” The show takes a behind the scenes look at their musical family their road to success.
You can hear their music on streaming platforms everywhere and on social media @TheAshleySisters.
I am currently a student at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles as a marketing major. Upon realizing that I wanted to change the way people perceive country music and to help women have a voice, I began The Women of Country in 2015 promoting new female artists and sharing their stories with the world.
