Today, singer-songwriter Courtney Cole is releasing her new 4-track EP, “Earthquake.” The EP plays like a collection of sonic diary entries, chronicling Cole’s journey of self-discovery as she tackles what it means to find power and trust within oneself. “It’s about choosing joy in the midst of pain and love in the midst of uncertainty. Finding out who you truly are in the process.”
Cole, a native of Mandeville, Louisiana grew up singing in church and at talent shows. She also dabbled in theater, acting and producing. For high school Cole attended a creative arts institute before moving to Nashville for college at Belmont University. There she studied music and immersed herself in the music scene. Learning to write her own music, Cole finds inspiration from events happening in her own life. Her songs are honest, passionate, and self-aware. Moving forward, Cole sees herself exploring and expanding her sound. “When I recorded “Spiritual,” We stripped everything down. It was like hitting the reset button after I had released past music with more of a country sound. Now, I am slowly rebuilding and reeling honing in on what I want it all to feel like rather than sound like,” said Cole. For new artists, she advises to always follow your mission, not a deal or manager’s opinion. You can hear “Earthquake” on all streaming platforms and on her website here. Author: Nicole Marchesi

(Los Angeles, CA; August 17, 2020) - Growing up in the small town of Warkworth, Ontario music became a way of life for Sacha. Along with her identical twin, she learned to play the piano and would perform endlessly for their parents. In 2011, after her company had went under Sacha went all in on the music career she always wanted. “There has always been a deep conviction in my heart to follow the path of music. It’s been present since I can remember and has never let me get away from it. I can’t quite compare anything to that of my enthrallment for music and making a career out of it.”
Now writing her own music, Sacha shares some of her innermost thoughts and experiences in her songs. Recently on July 24th, Sacha released her EP The Best Thing. Produced by CCMA nominee Dan Swinimer plus songwriters Kelly Prescott, Madeline Merlo, and Tenille Townes among others, The Best Thing has a fresh new sound. Moving on, Sacha hopes to inspire other women of color in country music to follow their dreams saying “I realize that as an under-represented woman of color in a male dominated genre, presents a unique opportunity for me to be a pioneer in the country music industry where I can contribute to the areas of diversity in hopes of other aspiring country artists having a fair and equal chance to pursue their dream and find a place in this genre.” You can listen to Sacha’s music on all streaming platforms and find her on her website here. Author: Nicole Marchesi Growing up a pastor’s kid, it was at the age of three when Bri Fletcher found her passion for music. By the age of five she was performing and another five years later she had written her first song. For Bri, songwriting is a form of therapy and her latest single is about just that. Entitled “Therapy” the song touches on acting as everyone’s therapist but needing one of her own. The pop-country infused track was written by Fletcher, Wes Strunk and Nate Alan.
Wanting to make a difference for students who experience bullying, Bri started the teen guidance foundation, Debully. In the past year, Bri has shared her music with more than 150,000 students with the hope to empower students to know their value and worth. Within the year, Bri hopes to release a new EP and perform at more venues in Nashville. You can find Bri on social media at @BriFletcher and on Spotify here. Canadian native, Lindsay Ell, has been lauded by Forbes magazine as “one of the most exciting and talented young artists in Country music.” Ell’s major success can be attributed to her dedicated international audience. She has performed at the C2C Festival, at the CMA’s “Introducing Nashville” series in Europe and Asia (playing eight countries in 32 days).
Lindsay Ell has shared the stage with superstars Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Sugarland, Billy Ray Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge and so many more legends. She has made numerous CMA Award stage appearances while playing alongside Carrie Underwood and Little Big Town. She is a 2x 2020 ACM nominee for New Female Artist of the Year and Music Event of the Year. Her first No. 1 hit was hers and Brantley Gilbert's duet, “What Happens in a Small Town.” Ell was the first Canadian woman to reach the top of the charts since Terri Clark in 2003 with, “I Just Wanna Be Mad.” Ell’s newest album, heart theory, released on August 14th, is a concept album that travels through the stages of grief. The 12 track album goes through the journey of shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, testing and acceptance. She says, “Theory is the science of music, heart theory is the science of a heart. The lead single, “want me back” was co-written with Kane Brown. Ell publicly addressed -for the first time- that she is a survivor of sexual assault. The deeply personal song, “make you” reveals her struggles in life after being raped as a 13-year-old. As the 11th track on the album, it represents the acceptance stage of grief. “I hope this roadmap can be a comfort if you need it, reassurance when you need to remember to believe in yourself or maybe just a glimpse into a memory that’s made you who you are” says Ell. This song represents her determination to use her platform to help other sexual trauma survivors. “Artists are always scared of the infamous sophomore album, but I’m so excited. I’ve done the work, I’ve found the right team, and I’m coming at it from a place of more strength and more honesty. I’m ready to do this, so bring it on” declares Ell. Lindsay Ell will be live for 24 hours straight beginning August 13th at 12am ET on Instagram. Follow along at @lindsayell. Stream Lindsay Ell’s new album, heart theory, on all music platforms here. We are excited to celebrate the launch of Brit Taylor’s new single, “Wagon” that was released on July 31st of this year. “Wagon” follows the artist’s debut single Waking Up Ain’t Easy which had success on Spotify’s Indigo playlist, critical acclaim from American Songwriter, Music Row, Billboard, and so much more!
This upbeat and “playfully angsty” song makes people want to get up and start dancing. Besides her strong vocals and her classic country sound, the back beat, harmonica with an attitude, and playful steel guitar licks really make “Wagon” special. Just like her, this song is hard to forget! It will definitely be a Brit Taylor classic. Taylor co-wrote “Wagon” with the award-winning hit songwriter Marcus Hummon. Hummon often attempts to define country music and find the sound and the feelings it represents. He decides that there is no one sound for country music, as it is “a diverse field, and a genre capable of holding many forms and expressions.” But, in reference to Brit Taylor, Hummon admits that “if she's not country, nothing's country!” Author: Sophie Grube |
