You heard them first on SXM the Highway and now the duo Smithfield is taking on the country music world by storm. A harmonious collaboration of vocalists Trey and Jennifer, Smithfield was bound to take shape. Jennifer began singing at age three and ten years later, after her parents had taken her all around the state to perform, she just knew she wanted to pursue music as a career. Meanwhile Trey was inspired to pursue music by his father who played the guitar. Also age thirteen when he decided to pursue music as a career Trey became a member of a rock band.
Though the two had met at the age of ten, it wasn’t until Trey reached out to Jennifer in college interested in working as a duo when the two began to sing together. And just as soon as they started there was an instant blend of harmonies which sounded genuine and natural. After performing together for a little over a year, Smithfield was ready to make the move to Nashville where they were quick to get noticed. There the duo had the chance to showcase their compelling sound at CMA Fest and later released a full EP entitled Hey Whiskey.
Putting themselves out there, Smithfield had raised enough money for the EP’s release and were picked up by SXM The Highway soon thereafter. Having had radio time, the duo found that they enjoyed hearing from their fans especially when their audience sang along with them.
More recently as requested by SXM The HIghway, Smithfield released their new single When You’re Gone based on experiences and emotions of their own and of their peers. About the life of the party, the person everyone wants to be friends with, along with its sexy and upbeat tone When You’re Gone is the perfect summer anthem.
With new music on its way and a fall tour in the works, there’s no doubt that we’ll be seeing much more of these two performing live and at the top of the country music charts! So make sure to keep requesting Smithfield to SXM The Highway and buy their new single When You’re Gone available everywhere now!
