Oregon native, Hailey Verhaalen, has released her new single "Sunday Morning Love You" that will have you singing the lyrics over and over in your head after your first listen. The talented songwriter and her co-writers, Steven Cade and Brittany Moore, paint a clear picture about the kind of love everyone wants to have. “‘Sunday Morning Love You’ is a feel-good song about a love that is more than just a Saturday night. A Sunday morning love is that person you trust with your heart, can be silly around, and feel 100% comfortable with,” says Verhaalen. “After being known for writing mainly funny, rowdy, and heartbreak songs, I am excited to finally be able to show my softer side by releasing my very first love song!” Hailey is currently living in Nashville, TN, and is working hard to get her songs and voice heard. She also had the chance to audition for this season 3 of American Idol and made it to Hollywood with a yes from all three judges! Katy Perry commented that her voice “stood out in the competition” and “has a beautiful tone.” Watch Hailey perform the song live in our exclusive interview below. Carter Faith won’t be leaving Tennessee anytime soon. Originally from a small town in North Carolina, Carter grew up listening to old country cassette tapes and records of Dolly Parton and Stevie Nicks. Writing her first song at the age of 16 after a breakup, music became her passion. For college, Carter moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University where she is now pursuing a degree in songwriting. Drawn to the Music Row scene and playing at iconic venues including The Bluebird and The Listening Room Café, Carter wrote “Leaving Tennessee.” About never wanting to leave and feeling at peace in a new place, the song resembles the welcoming community and small town feel of Nashville. For the music video, Carter’s first, she worked with Running Bear Films. The video was shot at a drive-in theater for a nostalgic feel and premiered on CMT. Seeing the video for the first time Carter recalls, “It was so emotional seeing the music video for the first time. I’ve dreamed of putting my thoughts and emotions to art for so long and seeing that come to life is nothing short of magic for me.” You can watch the video below. Currently Carter is working on her debut EP to be released in 2021. With dreams of touring, she’s performing whenever possible. In fact, we met Carter at a Song Suffragettes show in early August. One of her earliest memories, Bailey Hefley remembers telling her mother that she wanted to be a country singer at just three years old. By the time she was five, Bailey battled seizures and was bullied as a result. Finding inspiration from LeAnn Rimes, Faith Hill, and Shania Twain, Bailey continued to follow her dream of music. In fact, she tells us “music gave me a purpose, an escape from what was happening in reality.”
Through the battle, Bailey took up singing lessons, performing in her hometown, and even made the trip to Nashville where she later attended Belmont University. Now writing her own music, Bailey views her songs like a photo album you can go back and look on. Her lyrics are honest and tell a story. Bailey’s song “Gotta Find Out” was taken from personal experience, about a blind date and whether a man will be “a blessin’ or a lesson.” Through the pandemic, Bailey has been staying hopeful saying it’s “A brief pause to reflect on all I've been through, all I've been given, and all I've yet to do… My 2020 is not about hindsight; it's about a clear vision into my future and a hope that these songs can inspire others to chase their dreams and never give up on themselves." Stay tuned for what’s next for Bailey by following her on social media at @BaileyHefley and on her website here. |
