Artist Rylie Bourne has country music in her blood. Following in the footsteps of her father who played the guitar, Rylie attended many bluegrass festivals as a child later learning how to play the guitar herself. In her teens Rylie began playing at open mic nights and soon thereafter decided to pursue a career in music.
New to songwriting but excited to try new things, Rylie found her voice creating songs which have deep and dark melodies and creative lyrics. In 2017 Rylie graduated from Segue 61 where she met her current duo partner Damon Atkins. Wanting to build a fanbase this summer, the two are hitting the road. So listen to Rylie’s new single Shoot to Kill on iTunes and Spotify or on her website at www.ryliebourne.com.

Hayley Marsten releases her new single and video for Money Can’t Buy Class today. If there’s one lesson to learn from the song’s release it’s this: never be cruel to anyone, because you never know who is a songwriter.
Inspired by a girl who had a lot of nasty things to say about Hayley, like how she could never pull off a designer bag or fancy things, the single is taken from Hayley’s latest EP Lonestar. The previous singles, Until You and Second Fiddle, both cracked the Top 30 in the Australian Country Airplay Charts and Money Can’t Buy Class is a catchy, sassy follow-up that’s sure to impress. Produced by Matt Fell at Love Hz Studios, the single not only showcases the vocals that took Hayley to the Top 10 in the Toyota Star Maker competition, but also her knack for entertaining storytelling and a self-awareness that’s only growing with age. “You say I can’t pull off what you’ve got, honey,” Hayley sings, “it’s cause I’m everything you’re not.” After receiving a grant from the Regional Arts Development Fund, Hayley recently returned to her hometown of Gladstone to film the video for Money Can’t Buy Class. She brought the guys from The Filmery, based in NSW, up to Gladstone for the shoot and this video, she says, “is the most involved I’ve ever been in the concept and pre-production so I’m extra proud of this one.” So listen to Money Can’t Buy Class via Spotify here and watch the official music video above. Although only 14-years old Queeva’s positive outlook on life has her standing out above the rest. Introduced to country music by her father who played country in the car, Queeva was quick to fall in love with the sounds and songs of Dolly Parton and LeeAnn Womack. At the age of nine, Queeva took to the stage for the first time and hasn’t looked back since.
Now performing all around Nashville, Queeva has gained a large following. A songwriter as well, Queeva writes songs which are relatable as well as inspiring. In her latest single Live Like a Song, Queeva reflects on what music means to her. With a traditional country sound Queeva’s voice is sure to surprise you. Contestant Gabby Barrett surprised us all with her powerful vocals, earning her a spot in this season’s Top 7 of American Idol. Before sharing her talent with the world Gabby sang in her local church choir, working with a group of women who’ve continuously championed her dreams. With her father by her side Gabby began performing at the age of 11. Now 18, Gabby wanted to show her father how much his support means to her and decided to take the next step in her journey by auditioning for American Idol.
Gabby auditioned in Nashville, having prepared to perform Good Girl by Carrie Underwood. However the judges found that Gabby’s country accent hid her natural range. Giving her the chance to choose another song for her audition, Gabby gave the judges a preview of powerful vocals which was enough for all three judges to agree that she should advance to Hollywood. Taking the judges’ remarks to heart, Gabby choose to perform Aretha Franklin’s Ain’t No Way in round 2. But it wasn’t until Gabby was given the chance to perform with Sugarland, when she became one to watch. Having looked up to Jennifer Nettles as a child, Gabby couldn’t believe that she was not only going to meet Jennifer, but also perform a duet with her. Commenting that Jennifer was a “classy woman,” it became clear that Gabby wasn’t playing games during her performance. Returning to her roots, Gabby gave the judges her rendition of Maren Morris’ My Church, Miley Cyrus’ The Climb later redeeming herself with a performance of Carrie Underwood’s Church Bells during Showcase Week. Understanding that “no matter how prepared you are there will always be challenges up ahead,” Gabby is excited for what the future holds as a Top 7 contestant. Having picked up the guitar and written her first single titled Fireflies, Gabby is ready to make a name for herself in country music. So tune in to American Idol every Sunday at 8 EST/ 5 PST and text “14” to 21523 to vote Gabby Barnett as your next American Idol. |
