Kassie Jordan of the duo Blue Honey grew up among a southern lifestyle. Later attending Belmont University to follow her passion for singing, Kassie feels right at home in Music City. Kassie started off as a solo artist, until she met current husband Troy Brookes who was playing the same gigs at the time.

As a duo the two seemed to read each other's’ mind and quickly found that they harmonized together as well. The duo, now referred to as Blue Honey, writes about their own personal experiences. With a sound that is hard to put a label on, Blue Honey isn’t afraid of diversity.

This latest single August Without Us released this past Friday features an upbeat tune and is easy to sing along to. In a few months the duo plan to release a full EP just before they set off to Norway to perform this summer.

So listen to music by Blue Honey on iTunes and Spotify and on Blue Honey’s website at http://www.bluehoneymusic.com/.

UK Songwriters Are Proud To 'Write Like A Girl' As They Set OUt On Tour This May

Female singer-songwriters Beth Keeping, Emily Faye and Vic Allen announce an all-female UK tour to put the spotlight back on women in music.

Under the banner Write Like A Girl the up-and-coming female artists will share the stage in a writer’s round-style performance, taking it in turns to play a selection of songs from their latest releases. Each date will also feature a guest act from the local area.

The three singer-songwriters met last year when they were writing in Nashville. Inspired by the craft of Nashville songwriters – and disheartened at the gender imbalance on the US country scene – Keeping, Faye and Allen decided to host a music tour to put female songwriters back on center stage.

A quick glance at the Hot Country charts in the States shows the huge disparity between the number of high-selling male and female artists. But this issue runs much deeper than country music. A recent USC study showed that in the past 6 years only 12% of songs in the Billboard Top 100 had a female songwriting credit. And back home on the UK live scene, last year on one night just 9% of live music acts were female-only (The Guardian, 2017).

Write Like A Girl is a new movement that aims to put female songwriting talent back in the spotlight – and inspire more women to pick up a pen or an instrument and create music. Keeping says: “We want to show that female writers have a unique voice to bring to the table. We also hope to create an environment where women celebrate each other’s talents and successes, and cheer one another on.”

The Write Like A Girl tour begins in Vic Allen’s local town of Norwich on 9th May and finishes in London on 24th May. More information can be found on Facebook.com/writelikeagirltour.

With a country twang, an R&B range, and pop melodies, artist Sophia Scott is determined not to be restricted by genre. Hailing from Boulder and now living in Los Angeles, Sophia grew up with an eclectic music taste, listening to everything from James Taylor to Mariah Carey to Shania Twain who's influences can be heard throughout her music.

Sophia started gaining traction by posting youtube covers that she recorded in her bedroom with just a guitar and a mic. Briana Renea Reminds Kids To Be 'Unstoppable'

Canby, Oregon Singer-songwriter, Briana Renea, utilizes her musical talent to the benefit of others by taking time out of her already full touring schedule to entertain and bring a message of social responsibility and accountability to school students.

On the Social Acceptance Public Service Ambassador tour, Briana Renea will be performing her original music and bringing awareness on important subjects like social acceptance, eliminating bullying, juvenile, diabetes, childhood obesity and self-harm to schools - their students, families, and communities.

Nashville Recording Artist Briana Renea’s upcoming single Unstoppable was selected as the theme song for the 2018-2019 Teens of America PSA tour. The song was released on March 30, 2018. In fact, Briana is donating 10% of this year’s Unstoppable download sales to Teens of America.

Briana Renea has been very fortunate to work with some amazing writers in Nashville over the past few years. She wanted to write a song for the teens of America program that would help inspire people and deliver a positive message for the program. “So I went looking through my catalog of unfinished songs and stumbled on the rough work tape of this. I immediately sent the idea over to my co writer, Steve Mitchell, and asked him to help me finish the song. It took two writing sessions, but when it was done I was thrilled with how it turned out.”

“My hope for this song is to help listeners feel like they are not alone and to let them know that if you work hard and set your mind to something, you can do it. I want people to hear the song and be inspired! Or when they are having a bad day, I want them to know that they are not alone. The song is about life and the ups and downs it throws at you. And if you put your mind to it, you can be a force of nature and be Unstoppable.”

“Being able to provide positive messaging to schools, especially teens...well, that naturally draws me to something as inspirational as the Social Acceptance Teens of America PSA tour. I think it is important that we as artists bring social acceptance messaging front and center. Unstoppable is simply that kind of messaging put to music.” You can check out her new song at https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/briana-renea/67242486.
